One of the reasons I can’t wait to be back in Morocco is the amazing Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay.
It was a pleasure to stay there and I already started making plans to visit again and bring friends and family.
From a (sunset) view to die for to a spa (hammam) and a gym, this coastal hotel with ocean views has it all.
On my first and first solo trip to Morocco, I stayed in this hotel and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I got upgraded to the king suite with ocean view and as soon as I entered my suite, I knew I would have the best time.
Here’s my experience staying at the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay.
The hotel has the best views as it’s built on a big hill: Enjoy views of the Atlas Mountains, the ocean, or the hotel’s own herb gardens from your room, featuring plush robes, separate living spaces, and—in most rooms—a private balcony or terrace. Choose the Ocean View Villa to enjoy a private pool.
The hotel has a luxurious feel and it’s very clean, and as I was situated on the first floor, I didn’t walk around too much but the hotel isn’t that big. It has two floors and on the ground floor, there are restaurants, bars, the pool, and a gym and the hammam (spa).
I got lost one time and noticed the cutest little ‘traditional Moroccan’ details that made me feel like staying in a riad.
I stayed in the king suite, which was absolutely the best place to rest! It has a living room, two toilets, a small kitchen, a living room, a walk-in closet and a bedroom with bathroom.
Like wow!
I absolutely loved the design of the room, the closet was really amazing, I wish I’d taken more outfits with me haha!
The hotel has 172 rooms, suites, and villas. Most spaces come with a private balcony or terrace—all the better for admiring ocean views that stretch for miles. Spread out in a villa with a private pool and views of the ocean, golf course, or mountains.
Now it’s time for my favorite thing about this whole hotel: the outdoor pool area!
It was beautiful every hour of the day, from breakfast to lunch and dinner, I spend too much time there and it’s the reason I canceled my Marrakesh day trip. I needed more time there!
From the little cabanas to the pool lounge chairs and the two swimming pools: that are enough reasons to enjoy the sun there while you can.
The food from the pool bar was ok, I wish there were more Moroccan food options on the menu than just a chicken tagine (that said: I don’t eat fish so that limits options).
So I had the chicken tagine daily (it was VERY good!) and sometimes a hamburger, which I wasn’t much of a fan of.
At Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay, a free hotel shuttle will whisk you back and forth to Agadir’s city center, located 17 kilometers to the south. Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) is just 44 kilometers away.
The hotel has a private beach, a 5-minute car ride away from the hotel and the shuttle can bring you there for free as well. From the beach, it’s just a 10-minute walk to Taghazout.
So you can visit Taghazout or Agadir, you can take a day trip to Marrakesh or one of the amazing things around the hotel: visit the herb garden, play golf, surf, go to the gym or hammam or just lay in the sun.
I could have stayed forever but unfortunately, I had to go. I can’t wait to visit again with friends and family, I got them all enthusiastic about this beautiful, undiscovered hotspot!
The hotel went out of their way to make sure I had the best possible stay, from the pool boy that did everything for me as soon as he saw me even a little bit struggling with parasols or from the reception. I can’t wait to visit again!
