Okay, so you have created a wonderful website. Be it for blogging or business purposes (or a mixture of both); your hope is that people will drop by on a regular basis to see what you have to offer.
However, you are unlikely to experience those ‘If you build it he will come’ miracles that were highlighted in Field of Dreams, as you need to be proactive if you want people to visit your website.

By focussing on these areas, your website has a better chance of success. Of course, it’s easier said than done sometimes, but there is plenty of information online to help you. An SEO strategy is essential for growing your website traffic. As we have already suggested, this is about getting your website noticed on Google’s search pages, as your online presence will never be improved if you don’t rank highly.
We aren’t going to discuss SEO in too much detail here, as the previously linked article provides some suggestions and other linked articles that will increase your understanding of the topic. There is plenty of other information online too, so commit to a Google search to improve your knowledge. However, if you find SEO complicated, or if you would rather hand over this aspect of your website to a professional, then get in touch with a trustworthy digital marketing agency. You might do this anyway, despite your own efforts with SEO, as with their knowledge and experience of Google’s search algorithms, you might find more success with professional assistance.
If you want people to visit your website, then you have to be proactive in letting people know about it.
So, provide links back to your site on social media. Participate on other blogs, and link back to your site when you comment on blogger posts, or when you guest blog for others. Engage with online community groups, placing a special focus on those forums that consist of readers who might have an interest in your website. And if your website is used for your business, list it on online business directories.
By taking these steps to promote your website, you will both increase your readership and improve your ranking on Google’s search engine.
