People travel for a variety of reasons. Some want to escape the mad rush of urban life. Others are tired of feeling trapped in a stuffy office and dead-end job. Many more still, are eager to travel to find themselves. When you explore the world and journey to new places, it is possible that you find a piece of yourself that was always there and you perhaps never even new existed. Of course, to do this, you need to make sure that you are traveling the right way. It’s important that you don’t take the typical route to traveling because that road is too heavily walked. The footprints there are so deep, it’s impossible not to follow them. You need to set your own path.
It’s a little more difficult to do this these days with ESTAs and visas and everything else in between that you need to get to your destination. However, if you have the right travel documents and make sure you know what visas and such that you need for certain countries, you can pick a plane at random to board once you reach the airport. As well as finding your own path this way, it’s often quite a cheap way to travel. Last minute cancellations occur all the time, and these tickets often sell at incredibly low prices. So, if you’re looking to travel on a shoestring budget, this could be the way to do it.
Avid readers of my blog will know that I sometimes get jealous when I see people traveling together. Meanwhile, this traveler has chosen to fly solo. But the truth is that if there is someone constantly there with you, you have no way of finding who you are and your place in this world. You can’t even find your individual path because you’ll discover decisions like this are shared.
You might be keen to live in a little more luxury when you go traveling. But if you truly want to find yourself, you should avoid the hotels altogether or even the hostels. Instead, you should forge your own path and camp out. It’s impossible to ignore that there are some truly incredibly beauty spots everywhere from western Europe to east Asia that can’t be truly appreciated from a hotel room. But as well as this, by camping, you get that independence. Don’t worry, as Tents and Camp Gear points out, there are plenty of items and accessories that you can use to bring home comforts with you when your camping. But by sleeping out in the wild, you can connect with nature and perhaps have that key moment of enlightenment that people search for when traveling.
Finally, you need to make sure you’re pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. It’s time to explore a world that you’re not used to and that you perhaps don’t fully understand. Experience new cultures and people because by seeing a new side of life, you will gain a fresh perspective on who you are and perhaps even your future fate.
