There are certain routine checkups everyone should get every so often, to make sure you’re the healthiest you can be. These are related to weight, blood pressure, and hearing for example. This will help to lower the risk of any health problems later in life. With regular checkups, you’ll be able to stay on top of your health. Routine physical

If you really want to upgrade your health, you should have a routine physical. How often you need to have this checkup depends on your age, general health, and if you’re at risk of certain health problems or have a family history of anything. It’s also a good idea to get some advice from your doctor about your lifestyle or any other recommendations. It’s a perfect opportunity to speak to your doctor about any concerns you may have or ask any questions. 

Hearing test

It’s a good idea to have a hearing if you’re frequently finding yourself lost in a conversation struggling to hear the TV or having problems hearing on the phone. If you already wear a hearing aid you should also have a regular hearing aid evaluation. This will ensure that it’s working properly. Improving your hearing will make you healthier and happier overall, so it’s a good idea to have it checked every so often.

Body mass index (BMI)

Your BMI is calculated by your height and your weight. It’s to check that you’re in a healthy weight range. This means you’ll be less at risk from health problems that are connected to obesity such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. You can use a BMI calculator to find out your own BMI by entering your height and weight.

Blood pressure

It’s recommended to get your blood pressure checked at least every two years. Your doctor will often take your blood pressure as part of your routine exam. You can even order a kit online and check your blood pressure at home. You can then communicate the results to your doctor. You can find instructions online on how to check your blood pressure. High or low blood pressure can lead to other problems so it’s recommended to have it checked frequently, particularly if your health situation changes.

Cholesterol

If you’re above the age of twenty you should have your cholesterol level checked every four to six years. This is because high cholesterol can cause many other health problems. It’s linked to heart disease and stroke, for instance. Certain people may be more at risk of high cholesterol. These include those with diabetes or a personal or family history of high cholesterol. With regular checkups, you’ll be able to stay on top of this. Always remember your health should be the top priority.
