Having a business that is green and eco-friendly is great not only for your reputation but also halting costs. Paper, paper…
Recycling has been a regular occurrence that has been drilled into the majority of the population. It’s still as important as ever whenever possible, skip paper entirely, but if you have to print, make sure you are using eco-friendly paper.
Save energy
Turn off equipment when it’s not being used. This can reduce the energy used by 25 percent; turning off the computers at the end of the day can save an additional 50 percent.
Invest
Keep constantly looking at ways to make your business more modern and up to date. There are alway ways to keep developing the business on a grander scale. Investing is not just about the business but investing your time and energy to keep the company successful.
Use green power
It starts from inside the office too, along with turning off electricals turn to powering the office with alternative energy. Look at alternative ways to power your office, in certain areas of the country you can purchase ‘green power’ from your current utility provider. The power can be generated from renewable sources such as the wind and solar powers.
Use LED
Energy saving light bulbs don’t have to be dim and poorly lit, LED lighting is the way forward as they can help reduce energy waste as well as certain chemicals you’d get from fluorescent lighting. They can vary in price and may be a little more expensive however they last much longer than traditional light bulbs. As much as 80% and with over 95% of the energy in a LED bulb converted into the light the remainder into heat. These improve the quality of light distributed throughout the office meaning fewer bulbs are needed throughout the office as well saving money in the long run.
Waste management
Businesses will be required to start rethinking what they do with their waste. A waste management company are the way forward, proving excellent thinking. Switching the way you use your trash provider can also save money as well as saving the environment.
Share ideas
Keep regular meetings or discussions with employees get them involved in coming up with no schemes and ideas to help the environment. Get together weekly, this can boost morale in the office too, as they can feel valued and part of a team. Each person can be in charge and contribute certain ideas for different areas such as energy or recycling.
Think small
Being environmentally friendly doesn’t have to be large to have an impact. Reducing water, energy, and paper can make a big difference to your business. Think how much paper and commercial waste can be saved over the course of a year.
