Looking good is more important than ever. The world’s in a slump after 2020, the year of the pandemic. So feel good and stay safe. Get your jewelry right in 2022 with these two tips:
Choose the perfect jewelry to suit your skin tone
How many times have you tried on a piece of jewelry to think ‘this just doesn’t suit me’, but you have no idea why? It happens to me all the time. The trick is to play to your strengths and find jewelry that suits you.
First of all, you need to decipher whether you have a warm or cool skin tone. This is really easy to do. If you tend to have a yellow or golden undertone to your skin, brown or hazel eyes, and either a red, auburn or an orangey tint to your hair then you have a warm skin tone. One the other hand, if you have a cool skin tone then you will have the following factors; blue coloured veins, blue or green eyes, a pinkish undertone to your face and brown or blonde hair.
If you have a warm skin tone then opt for jewelry with warm colours incorporated, whether it is a necklace or an upper ear piercing. For instance, your choice of metal would be gold, and colours such as red, amber, corals and alike will look best against your skin tone. If you want to go for a contrasting colour then blues also look stunning against a warm skin tone.
With regards to cool skin tones, your metal of choice is most likely silver. You should go for more fluid and light colours, such as white, cream, rose and pale blue. The best of these colours are really brought out when they are displayed alongside silver and on a person with a cool skin tone.
Add life into an outfit with a statement cocktail ring
Statement cocktail rings have become a must-have jewelry piece over the past few years. Whether you want to add an edge to your outfit, or need something to completely brighten up and revitalise a plain look, a bold and beautiful cocktail ring is just the thing.
What makes a cocktail ring unique is that they possess such a mass of individuality. No ring is similar, and the array of colours, shapes and designs on offer means that there is something for everybody.
When deciding which statement cocktail ring is the best for you, you need to try and find a balance between uniqueness and versatility. After all, you want a ring which speaks for itself, draws attention and is quirky. But at the same time, you want to get a good amount of usage out of your ring. There is no point buying a striking cocktail ring if it has to dazzle from inside your jewelry box.
This certainly does not mean you have to go for something plain, or stick to an obvious colour, such as black. Envisage the ring working alongside some of the clothes you have in your wardrobe. If you can piece together at least three outfits in which the cocktail ring would look good with, then you know you are on to a winner.
A final piece of advice is to not stray too far away from what you like. It is always good to try something new but do not go for something completely out of your style. To hit a happy medium, try and incorporate something different with something you love. For instance, if you have always loved flowers but have been drawn to the recent trend for turquoise stones, then try and piece together the two.
