Whilst it may be overwhelming and daunting at first, there are lots of questions you can ask yourself to ensure you’re doing the right thing. From deciding what you want your business to do to thinking about the location you’re going to run it in, the more you’re planning in advance the better. With that in mind, here are 5 things to consider when starting a health and wellness business:

What Do You Want Your Business To Do?

One of the first things you need to consider is what you want you’re health and wellness business to be. Whether you’re running your own yoga studio or you’re opening up a private doctors practice, you need to ensure you know exactly what it is you’re going to do as a business. The best way to do this, of course, is to think about putting together a business plan. Although it can be hard for a first-time business owner, having a business plan is essential if you want to succeed. Where Will You Run Your Business?

Another important thing to consider is where you’re going to be running your business. From creating products in your own home to working out of a studio, knowing the type of ‘office’ you need to invest in is important. If you do need to buy or rent space, you’re going to need to include this in your start-up costs.

Do You Need To Buy Any Specialist Equipment?

If you’re going to be running a business that requires specialist equipment, you need to ensure you’re buying it as soon as you possibly can. Whether that means buying an intraocular lens for your surgery, investing in commercial fitness equipment to kit out your gym, or buying the materials required to make your own line of gym wear, researching the best manufacturers is incredibly important. Whilst you want to save as much money as you can, you need to ensure you’re buying high-quality items that meet the needs of your business.

How Will You Market Your Business?

Another important thing to consider when it comes to starting a health and wellness business is how you’re going to be marketing your business. With so many amazing strategies to choose from, you need to be sure you’re picking the one that suits you most. From using social media and paid ads to reach your target audience to advertising in your local paper, thinking about your ideal customer will make choosing your marketing strategies easier. You need to think about where they’re going to be, targeting your advertisements for that specific area. Do You Need To Hire Any Staff Members?

Finally, you need to think about whether or not you need to hire any team members. Whether you need someone to hell you run your practice or you need someone to help with your social media, hiring team members is a great way to grow your business whilst allowing you the time you need to focus on the more important aspects of being an entrepreneur.

The Big Health Issues Of Our Times

While the health of the nation has improved tremendously over the last one hundred years, we are still, unfortunately, beset with issues. While some of these are our fault, many also arise from conditions created by the modern world. Practically none of the health issues discussed in the infographic below were even on the radar in the 19th century.

Prescription opioid overdose and abuse, for instance, is a significant public health threat. Around 46 fatalities from the drug occur every day. It is new.

Obesity wasn’t a significant problem 100 years ago, either. Back then, most people struggled to get enough calories. They weren’t at risk of disease because they were getting too many.

In 1958, the obesity crisis was still a couple of decades in the future. Just 0.93 percent of the population had diabetes. Today, that figure is more than 7.40 percent, with the number rising all the time. Around 47 percent of Hispanics are obese in the US, and 46.8 percent of blacks. The only ethnic group in the country with relatively low levels of obesity are Asians, but even here, the numbers are rising.

Dealing with the current crop of public health issues will take new thinking. While people are living longer, they’re also living sicker and more depressed. Solutions will require the help of health educators, medical service providers, researchers, and government officials.

  • Mistakes To Avoid After A Serious Injury

Mistakes To Avoid After A Serious Injury

An injury can truly wreak havoc on your life, impacting you physically, emotionally, and financially. The moments just after a serious injury are usually filled with confusion and shock. People don’t often expect to be involved in an accident, so when they are, they rarely know how to deal with the situation. For this reason, it’s fairly common for victims of an injury to risk their case by doing the wrong thing. With that in mind, here are six mistakes you must avoid after a serious injury.

    Delaying Seeing A Doctor

While your adrenaline levels are high, you may not feel the symptoms of your injury. This means you might not realize you need a doctor until much later. Sometimes, pain doesn’t appear until days or weeks after an accident, by which time you might have caused further damage. Make your health a priority and strengthen your claim by heading to the hospital right after being hurt.

    Failing To Collect Evidence

Seeing a doctor about your injuries means that a record of them will be taken for you. As valuable as this is, you must also collect evidence from the scene of the accident. Whether you were involved in a crash or a slip and fall, photographs will help the courts determine who was at fault. If anyone witnessed the accident, having their contact details can also prove to be helpful. This could help when you get in touch with a lawyer, as well-documented evidence could help assist with navigating the legal process of the case, and determine who’s at fault faster than if there was no evidence to be observed.

    Handling Your Own Claim

Despite how the evidence presents itself, personal injury cases aren’t often clear cut. This is why personal injury lawyers are crucial. Without an attorney to present your evidence and fight your corner, you might not get the compensation you deserve. Even those with law experience often struggle to present themselves in court, so it’s best that you have an expert by your side. If you live in Nashville, you can try this personal injury lawyer. If you aren’t in that area, make sure to do your research for trustworthy personal injury lawyers around you.

    Suggesting You’re To Blame

Accidents inconvenience many people other than just yourself. Because of this, most people’s natural inclination is to apologize, whether they were at fault or not. However, doing so is risky, both for you and your claim. If you were to say you’re sorry, it could be taken as an admission of guilt. This means your claim would be dismissed and you might get into trouble instead.

    Taking The First Offer

The first offer made by the defendant is unlikely to be the full settlement you’re due. As tempting as it might be to accept it, you must speak to your attorney first. They can then provide you with the best legal guidance and support and let you know whether you should take the offer or ask for more. A personal injury claim can be a long process, but after being hurt through no fault of your own, you owe it to yourself to get what you deserve.

    Posting About The Case

After a traumatic incident, speaking about your feelings can definitely help. However, you must only do so with those you can trust. Posting about the case on social media will put it at risk. After all, anything that you say can be used against you, even when your posts are private. If an insurance company or the defendant wishes to speak to you, give them your lawyer’s number.

With the advice above, you’re much more likely to win your personal injury case.

  • The kitchen is the door to your health

The kitchen is the door to your health

Did you know which room is the first to receive a makeover when in a newly bought property? It is the kitchen! Close behind, the bathroom is the second most common renovation project for homeowners. Why do these two rooms receive most of the attention when you buy a house? The answer is simple. Because they are heavily involved in your everyday routine. As a result, your kitchen – and your bathroom too – tends to show signs of wear and tear sooner than any other area in your home. When you think about it, every cup of coffee, every spaghetti bolognese dish, every oven-baked cake, every sliced or peeled vegetable adds up. By the end of the day, the kitchen is a place for gathering and togetherness, where the heart of the household beats every morning and every evening as you prepare your meal. Needless to say, your favorite kitchen appliances get used day after day until they need replacing. (more…)
