If you believe that you are not reaching your true potential, then you will know how frustrating this can be. You might feel like you are just not able to achieve as much as you’d like, and this is having an impact on your personal life and your career too. There are ways for you to work around this however, especially if you make yourself aware of your own behaviour.
If you begin your day stressed and rushing around, then this will set the tone for the next couple of hours. If you start the day off well however, then this will give you some degree of momentum and you may even feel as though you have the energy you need to have a great day. If you want to do this then you need to get up half an hour earlier than you need. It also helps to get out the clothes you want the night before. This will give you the time to have some peace and quiet, and it will also help you to calm your thoughts. Try your hand at yoga, or even meditation. When you’ve done this, make yourself a cup of tea, have your breakfast and prepare yourself for whatever might come your way.
It doesn’t matter whether you are scared of singing in front of people or whether you are frightened of the dentist because you have to embrace your fears. This could be holding you back from being as happy as you could be and you may even find that you lose out on confidence as a result. So, go to the dentist to have your teeth whitened, or even practice speaking in front of a large group of people. It may even help to look up veneers’ pros and cons so that you can prepare yourself. Either way, every time that little voice in the back of your head comes up saying that you can’t do something, it helps to make a note of it and then carry on either way. If you let fear hold you back from everything you have always wanted to do then this will eventually take control of you.
If something just isn’t working out for you then it can be tempting to assume that you should just stop wasting your time. You have to remember that persistence can be a very valuable trait at the end of the day, so if you are able to push through even the most difficult times then this will really work in your favor.
Make a list of all the ambitions you have and then divide them up into the ones that you focus on, and the ones that you keep hidden. For example, you may find birdwatching very relaxing, but you don’t actually do it because you don’t believe that your friends are into it, or even because you think other people will make fun of you. If this is the case, then focus on what you want to do and run with it. When you do, you will find that you are way happier and that you are also able to pursue something that you really love.
